Common Applications of ThermalFlow Infrared Detectors

UAV Field

  • Day and night reconnaissance and battlefield surveillance
  • Target identification and precision strike
  • Border patrols and security
  • Search and rescue and emergency response

Day and night reconnaissance and battlefield surveillance

The infrared detector enables the drone to operate in all weather conditions, including night, fog, or smoke, ensuring continuous surveillance. During daylight, it uses visible light imaging, and switches to thermal imaging mode at night to maintain uninterrupted reconnaissance.

Target identification and precision strike

Infrared technology can penetrate camouflage and identify concealed targets (such as vehicles or personnel in bushes). High-resolution thermal imaging devices (like 640×512 vanadium oxide detectors) can distinguish drones from birds, kites, and other obstructions, providing precise target guidance for countermeasures. Some drones also integrate laser ranging technology to enhance strike accuracy.(图2)

Border patrols and security

Equipped with infrared devices, drones can monitor border lines and identify illegal border crossers or suspicious activities. Their thermal imaging capability is outstanding in complex terrain (such as mountains and jungles), effectively expanding the monitoring range.

Search and rescue and emergency response

In disaster or battlefield search and rescue, the infrared detector of the UAV can detect vital signs (such as human heat sources) and locate survivors in the ruins or dense forests. The thermal imager is sensitive to temperature differences and can quickly identify weak heat signals.
